Ceiling Fan Installationin Westerville, Ohio

Family-owned ceiling fan installation and replacement for Westerville homeowners, landlords, and property managers — with 30 years of hands-on experience. Uptown, the Highlands, or anywhere in between, we install fans in the homes this community actually lives in.

Working in Westerville Homes

Two very different housing eras, two different fan projects

Westerville is unusual in how sharply its housing splits. Around Uptown you have older homes — many from the early 1900s through the 1950s — with plaster ceilings, tight attic access, and original wiring. Out toward the Highlands and the newer developments along Polaris and County Line, you have 1990s-and-newer construction with modern boxes and predictable framing.

Those two homes need different conversations. In an older Westerville house, the first question is almost always what is above that ceiling — whether there is accessible attic space to add proper fan-rated bracing, or whether we are working with what a previous remodel left behind. In a newer build, the box is frequently already fan-rated and the job is straightforward.

We have hung fans in both. What matters is that we look before we quote, rather than assuming which one you have.

What We Get Called For

Common ceiling fan jobs in Westerville

A few recurring patterns stand out in this part of Franklin and Delaware County.

Replacing builders'-grade fans

The original fan from a 1990s or 2000s build is often the cheapest unit that was available, and after twenty years it wobbles, hums, or the light kit has failed. Straight replacement at an existing fan location — usually the simplest job we do.

Uptown homes with plaster ceilings

Older Westerville homes need a closer look. Plaster is harder to open cleanly than drywall, and we want to know what is above it before we start. Where there is an accessible attic, fan-rated bracing can usually be added without cutting into the ceiling below.

Bedroom fan upgrades

Replacing a dated bedroom fan, or adding one where there was previously only a light. The deciding factor is almost always whether the existing ceiling box is rated to carry a fan.

Rental turnovers near Otterbein

Westerville has a steady rental market around the university and along the Polaris corridor. Fan replacements between tenants, scheduled so the unit is ready to show when you need it.

Recent Work

Typical Westerville projects

Examples of the ceiling fan work we regularly handle in Westerville, described by the kind of project rather than by customer name.

Two bedroom fans replaced

A homeowner with two dated builder-grade bedroom fans — both wobbling and noisy. Replaced, balanced, and verified before we left.

Fan and light combo added to a living room

An Uptown home with only a ceiling light in the living room. The box was checked first, then a fan with an integrated light kit was mounted and the controls walked through.

Remote-controlled fan upgrade

An older fan swapped for a remote-controlled model, with the receiver wired in and the remote programmed and tested.

Two units prepared between tenants — worn fans removed, replacements installed and checked, units ready to show.

Westerville Questions

Ceiling fan questions from Westerville homeowners

My Westerville house is from the 1950s and has a plaster ceiling. Does that make installing a fan harder?

It can change the approach, but it rarely makes the job impossible. Plaster is harder to open cleanly than drywall, so wherever there is attic access above the room, we prefer to add fan-rated bracing from above rather than cutting into the finished ceiling below. If there is no attic access, we will tell you what the options are and what each involves before any work starts.

The fan in my 1990s Westerville home wobbles. Can it be fixed, or does it need replacing?

Sometimes it can be corrected and sometimes it cannot. Wobble usually comes from one of three things: unbalanced blades, a loose mounting, or a ceiling box that is flexing because it was never rated for a fan's movement. We check all three. If the box is the problem, balance alone will not solve it — the support has to be addressed. If the fan is simply worn out, replacing it is usually the better answer at that age.

Do you work with landlords around Otterbein and the Polaris corridor?

Yes. Rental fan replacement is a regular part of our Westerville work, including turnover jobs between tenants. Tell us the number of units and your turnover dates and we will plan the scheduling around your calendar.
